FiveM: CURL error 18 when connecting

CURL error 18

A download from the server stopped partway through. Usually a corrupt cache file or a network hiccup.

Why it happens

Error 18 means the connection closed before the whole file arrived. Bad cache entries, DNS problems, or a VPN can all trigger it.

How to fix it

1. Clear the FiveM cache folders ('cache', 'server-cache', 'server-cache-priv').
2. Switch to a public DNS (for example 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8) in your network adapter settings.
3. Turn off any VPN or proxy and reconnect.
4. If you're on Wi-Fi, try a wired connection to rule out drops.

Still broken?

If it only happens on one server, their file host may be overloaded — try again later or tell their staff.
